Meet the six top OPI educators who, with their artistic abilities combined, form OPI’s new Artistic Design Team. Right off the bat, the team met at the OPI corporate headquarters in North Hollywood for a design-intensive workshop. Their successful mission resulted in their creating hundreds of new design techniques using the full range of OPI professional products, including OPI Acrylic, Gel Systems, and what appears to be the team’s secret weapon, GelColor by OPI.

“The main focus was utilizing OPI’s shining star, GelColor by OPI. The system’s outstanding formula was highly favored among the team for lasting design work,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.

Meet the Team:

Vu Nguyen is the Master of Fine Arts. After attending Disney’s California Institute of the Arts, Nguyen turned to nails specializing in hand-painted art. He has trained nail techs around the world and has had top honors in many nail art competitions.

Chelsea Baart, The Embellisher, enjoys inspiring others with her creativity. Specializing in hand-painted and acrylic designs, her nail art has been featured in numerous nail industry trade magazines.

Christy Graham is The Abstract Artist. Graham is a salon owner in Cincinnati, specializing in hand-painted abstract and seasonal nail art and 3D acrylic design. She also travels the U.S. teaching, training and inspiring nail techs to achieve their highest professional goals.

Jeany Perez has Elegance with an Edge. A licensed esthetician, nail technician and salon owner with nearly two decades of experience, Perez enjoys educating other beauty professionals in the technical and business aspects of the industry.

Robert Nguyen has a Winning Design. His booked-solid nail business has clients coming from near and far for his award-winning designs. Competing for many years, Nguyen has consistently placed first in nail art, including in VietSALON’s Lunar New Year nail art competitions.

Adela Munoz’s Storybook Nails has created a booming acrylic, gel and nail art business in Fontana, Calif., with over 90% of her clients wearing her unique nail art designs. Specializing in hand-painted and 3-D acrylic art, her work has been featured in the NAILStv Troubleshooter series.

The Nguyen brothers are no strangers to OPI teamwork, with collaboration on OPI’s A-Team back in 2007. The A-Team comprised of six Vietnamese-American educators that focused on helping the Vietnamese nail industry.

Each artist has accomplished a lot on his and her own, I look forward to seeing what they create with their powers combined.
