3-D Fantasy Art Wins Gold in National UK Competition

by NAILS Magazine | November 21, 2013 | Bookmark +

I’m pretty new to the “nail world” — I had my first gel manicure a couple of weeks ago. So I’ve been blown away seeing all the creative and varied designs and enhancements from NAILS readers. I’m especially intrigued by 3-D nail art, and yesterday I came across an especially elaborate design: 3-D fantasy nail art inspired by Alice in Wonderland. At a recent national nail competition in the UK, contestants were asked to create acrylic designs incorporating the theme, “Mysteries.” In just two-and a half hours, Andrea Gordon brought her design to “life” with whimsical elements like a light-up diamond encrusted magic mushroom, a teapot pouring tea into a cup, and a Cheshire cat with flashing eyes. She won the title for Advanced Nail Enhancement and said that she is “Chuffed to bits to win the gold.” (So cute.) Check out Andrea and her model above.
