Incorporating Wine into Your Service

One of the interesting people I met at the BFF Event Beaches Turks and Caicos was Kate from Be Winery. She hosted tastings at several of the BFF events, like the jewelry party in Columbian Emeralds and the harlequin PJ beach party. Always on the lookout for ways things can be useful to nails, I sat down with Kate for an interview and got some great ideas from her on incorporating wine into nail services.

I asked Kate about using wine to cater to a salon patron who's enjoying an invigorating and refreshing manicure or pedicure service. She suggested Bright Pinot Grigio as a standalone wine or the following fun drink recipe:
  • 1/2 part Bright Pinot Grigio
  • 1/4 part Elder Flower Essence (or St. Germaine)
  • 1/4 part sparkling water (soda water)
  • Blueberries, Pomegranate seeds, or orange slices as an accent

Next, she was happy to share ideas for a compliment to a relaxing and soothing manicure or pedicure service. The Red Blend was an option on its own for a smooth wine. Then an easy sangria mix was her suggestion for a mix:

  • 1/2 part fruit juice
  • 1/2 part red wine
  • Option sparkling water
  • Accent or garnish with orange or pineapple slices

Be Winery is based in Napa and has online ordering at BeWinery.com if you have a liquor license. I hope you have fun with some of these recipes and would love to hear some recipes that you're using in your salons. In the stash of cruise gifts I still have some to give away, so those that leave tips and ideas for drinks to serve with services, even non-alcoholic, I will draw for two winners of a Gella sample set by ENP.
