Underwhelming Nail Spot at ISSELB15

The first day at ISSELB15 for me was Sunday as I flew up from the cruise on Saturday. My first goal was to check out the Nail Spot that had been bragged about in the show emails and collateral. I had high hopes for an awesome space, coordinated and clustered nail booths, and more.

It was really disheartening to find that Nail Spot was actually code for go behind the show floor, down a ways, out a door, down a hall, down some stairs, down another hall, then more stairs, and then you finally arrive at a hall in what feels like a basement to find the not so special Nail Spot. They may as well have just advertised that nail professionals were not appreciated or very welcome to attend the show.

I’m not sure why a nail professional would choose to attend this show or why nail manufacturers would put up with the slap in the face at the rates they pay for booth space. It looks like a better alternative for nail professionals on the west coast would be the Northwest Nail Tech Retreat. I rewrote this a few times trying to be a little less harsh, however when nail industry icons have asked this show to be more nail professional friendly and it hasn’t taken hold, a bit of brutal honesty seemed in order.
