Don’t Miss the Chance to Educate Clients

by Holly Schippers | May 28, 2015 | Bookmark +

With all the new media attention on salons and the “shocking” revelation that cheap services are not sustainable, the opportunity to educate your guests on the difference of great service has never been more abundant.

Are you making a point to walk clients through your disinfection protocol, remind them the files are new, or show off a certificate from your latest class? Chatting about the usual bits of life is ok for a portion of the service; however, don’t miss this chance to show them the difference they are paying for when they come to you. Cheapskates will likely never be our loyal clientele if they are always looking for the lowest price no matter the cost to the salon personnel that chooses to offer it. If working in the salon is not paying the bills and supporting your family, evaluate the situation. Now is a good time to look at how busy you are and consider a price increase in October. The media is only going to focus on the shock and awe that inspire fear or pity; you need to show people the positive side of the story which is a clean, quality service that can be found with a well-educated professional for a price that is more reasonable for a sustainable living!
