Sharing My Love for L.A. FingerNailFixer Style

Have you ever visited a place and realized the people you met there make you want to return more than the actual place itself? That would definitely be L.A. for me. I can’t imagine living in a place with such a random smell, constant grime on everything, and traffic that makes you long for transportation Star Trek-style with a “Beam me up Scottie”!

So many things in the movies make L.A. seem glamorous and amazing, probably at a certain income level it just may be. However, for a working class girl, the people will be what I come back for period. This especially rings true after a recent trip out to teach a CND Grand Master weekend in which I had the privilege of teaching at the most amazingly well-stocked and caring store I’ve ever entered. I was joined with the honor of teaching such wonderful nail professionals. The time there was so profound it needed more than a simple “thanks” and “see ya later”. So I wanted to really put it out there in massive appreciation, FingerNailFixer blog style!

Thank you to Monica and her crew at MK Beauty Club for such an amazing place to teach. The store was like a candy store for kids in that almost anything you could imagine as a nail tech was probably in there. Nail fashion fun, every product CND carries, other nail brands, spa furniture, travel cases, organizing containers, tools, and more. It was really hard not to drool every time I walked in. Needless to say if you are ever in L.A. it is a must see!! Going above and beyond in her excitement for nail education, Monica brought in lunch for the attendees each day so they didn’t have to venture out.

Each day she treated us to something different and delicious. In addition to a love for nails, Monica also has a love for her city. She exposed me to a different culture each night for dinner.

I loved seeing new things and experiencing different spices and flavors. My favorite was definitely the Korean BBQ!

Thank you to the attendees that made it to one or more of the classes! I really appreciate the time you took to not only come to class, but to miss work, brave the traffic, etc.

Anyone that has ever been to any of my classes is appreciated with all of my heart for their dedication to what they do and the passion for which they pursue it.

The awesome editor behind making my blog appear and look grammatically intelligent, Sigourney at NAILS, even attended class the final day. She has started nail school and you can even follow her student blog. Please be sure to drop an encouraging word now and then. It takes a lot of guts to choose nails in addition to a career you are already successful at. Plus, can you imagine how her writing and perspective will grow and evolve throughout school?! I’m so proud to know her and look forward to the journey.

Thank you again to all from the bottom of my heart to the tips of my talons! XO
