With a new schedule, I’ve been able to meet more people at school and I’ve even made new friends. So now I have more hands to practice on!

Color blocking has quickly become my go-to for classmates.

Week nine was dedicated to more manicures. While I still need to gain confidence with nipping, I can file, buff, and polish with ease. Okay, I lie. I do get a bit nervous but a couple of deep breaths make all the difference. This time around, I even got to work on nail art.

This is was the first set of nail art I did on a classmate after a manicure.

During week ten, I got an introductory demo to spa manicures and I even got to practice.

My first spa manicure was topped with a bright yellow polish change.

Luckily my partner is a very patient guy and he sat still during the hour-and-a-half manicure. In the end, I was very happy with the result- smooth, hydrated, happy hands.

That week I also got to practice gel enhancements. While working with that medium is something I’ve yet to figure out, I have to give credit to Holly Schippers and her tips on building a great smile line. While my enhancement might be wonky, I was really happy with my whites.
