Mani Monday: Halloween Horror Nails

by Sigourney Nuñez | October 5, 2015 | Bookmark +

It’s officially the best time of year for nail art! Whether your client asks for a festive color block or a ghoulish set, Halloween season will have her screaming for spook-tacular nails. Follow these steps from Providence, R.I.-based nail tech, Jessica Rosado, for a scary design.

1. Create a stiletto-shaped base.

2. Apply two thin layers of cover pink acrylic on the entire nail.

3. Apply one big bead of the cover pink acrylic on the center of the nail and blend downward and downward to build the thickness for a 3-D effect.

4. While the acrylic is still wet, use a toothpick to carve the stiches.

5. Use red gel-polish to fill the stitches to give it a blood effect. Cure.

6. Add brown gel-polish to give it a gorier look. Cure.

7. With a makeup sponge, dab red gel-polish around the nail for more horror. Cure.

8. Add top coat and cure to seal the wounded nail design.
