Week 15 and 16: Learning CND Brisa Gel

Advance Beauty College is a CND partner school, which means CND Education Ambassadors visit our campus once a month for a day-long demo. On the agenda was a main focus on fall nail art trends and learning to apply CND Brisa Gel to create a pink-and-white extension. CND’s Michele-Myhanh Huynh and Shelena Robinson were very knowledgeable and helpful but that didn’t mean that gel application would be easy.

Since I’ve been focusing on acrylic a lot lately in order to meet my requirements to apply for my State Board exam early, it was hard for me to shift mentality from acrylic to gel. The texture is still foreign to me. It’s really like applying honey on a nail...not easy!

Luckily, through instruction and watching the nail techs very closely, I managed to execute a single pink-and-while nail I was very proud of!

Thanks to CND, I learned how to properly apply a gel enhancement.

One of the best things I learned that day was that it’s not practice that makes perfect, it’s perfect practice that will get me closer to my goals.

And to take the edge off a bit, I borrowed my classmates hands for nail art. Ha!
