Week 15: Exams and Nail Services

This week we had four exams! We had our written exams starting Monday: one on nail artistry and one on acrylics. Each was 50 questions. I was nervous but it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. After we finished our exams, we applied tips to one of our practice hands to prep it for our nail art practical exam. The other hand we couldn't touch because we had to perform monomer and polymer enhancements/acrylic for our practical exam. On Tuesday, we had our practical exams, which were actually easy, but I was so nervous and trying to perfect what I was doing that the nail art one took me longer. First we did the did the acrylic exam. We had to apply nail tips to two fingers and a form one one finger, plus a monomer and polymer enhancement on a tip and a form, and two color monomer and polymer enhancements. We also had to paint two nails red. For the nail art exam, we had to do a holiday nail, a classic French, an embellishment, a white glamour bridal, and an ombré nail using a sponge. After the exam, I changed one of my classmate's gel polish.

On Thursday, I started my nail services, which are a certain number of services you have to complete before you graduate. Also I started studying for my State Board exams because I graduate next month! I can't believe it's right around the corner when it feels like I started not too long ago. I'm excited to start my journey in the nail industry but I am going to miss being in my nail class and my instructor. I can say that beauty school takes all of my time because when I'm not in school, I'm studying my steps and definitions. I find it helps a lot when it comes to taking exams because I've been studying so hard and I am able to remember what I've been reading. So if you're in beauty school, study, study, study! It will help in the long run. See you in Week 16!
