Week 16: Practice Makes Perfect

This week, I found out that I passed all my exams from last week, so I'm very excited about that! On Monday and Tuesday, I continued doing my services. I'm almost finished with manicures and I already finished all my pedicures. When doing our services, even if it's on a practice hand, we still have to do all the steps that are required with the procedure. It's a good thing because I'll remember the steps like their second nature when I go to take the State Board exams.

On Thursday, we had a blizzard in NYC. There was so much snow (8-10 inches) that all of NYC’s schools including mine closed for the day; it was SO cold outside! I can't wait for it to be spring. Because there was no class, I decided to spend most of the day studying for my State Board. We have to take two written exams, which are 100 questions each, and two practical exams for our temporary license. Then we take our State Board exams for our permanent license. My instructor told me I can take my State Board for my temporary license now, so I'm going to take this week or  next  and see how I do. You are allowed to keep taking it until you pass , which is not bad, but I want to pass it the first time. Fingers crossed! Beauty school is going by so fast I can’t believe it. Next month I'll be graduating, licensed, and starting my career as a licensed nail technician! I can't wait — I’m so excited! Thank you to everyone who's read my blog and been taking this journey with me. This is just the beginning. See you guys in Week 17!
