Week 4 Social Media Post: Foot Files

by Holly Schippers | March 22, 2017 | Bookmark +

For week four, let’s look at foot files. We need the salon guest to understand that the purpose of filing the feet is to soften callus, not remove it. When callus is completely removed, it can cause a great deal of pain. When the feet are “filed” using a tool with a blade, the skin responds by creating more callus to protect itself. This leads clients to believe they must return to have their feet scraped again on a regular basis. We want guests to return because they value and appreciate a service well done, not to maintain damage caused in the salon. So here’s your photo for this week — I hope they’re helping!

Here’s a caption you can post along with the image above:

When receiving a pedicure in a salon, all tools used on you should be properly cleaned and disinfected for YOUR service. This includes the foot file. Your foot file should have an abrasive surface, NOT a blade or the look of a cheese grater. Callus should be smoothed, never completely removed. This is for your health and safety. #IAMLICENSED #FingerNailFixer #NAILSmagazine
