As I watch a lot of these girls clock out for the last time, I get a little emotional. I’m realizing that my time is coming soon. With only 110 hours left, I started to think about state board. At Euphoria Institute, we're allowed to take our state board, practical portion, at 500 hours (I'm only 10 hours shy of this). So when I got there on Monday evening I spoke to the person in charge of scheduling the state board practical and signed up for January 8! I think this is when it hit me, I’m literally almost finished. I have mixed emotions about that realization.

On one hand I’m like, “Yes! Thank you Jesus for getting me through this difficult journey!”

But on the other hand I’m like, “Oh no, what’s next?! I won’t see these girls that I’ve developed such great relationships with, I won’t be coming to the same school I’ve been coming to for the past 26 weeks. What am I going to do with myself?”

I’m not going to lie, it brings a bit of anxiety but I’m sort of ready for the next chapter of my life. I just don’t know exactly where it’s going but I guess the point is to enjoy the ride.

This has been a long journey but it’s almost over, but soon enough I won't have to be a food server by day and a nail tech student by night.

This exciting week started off with a sculpted full set of Christmas nails on a returning client. Previously I’ve given her a full set with tips. I had tried to convince her before to let me do sculpted but she declined. So when she came back this time with no nails on, I gave it another shot. I told her sculpted nails give more of a natural look that I thought she may like. She agreed to it, surprisingly also let me do whatever I wanted on her nails as long as we used her favorite pink colors. I say surprisingly because she is normally one of those clients that knows exactly what she wants. It’s nice to see that after a few visits with me, she now trust me to get creative on her nails! They came out just how she wanted and were so beautiful.

On Tuesday, I had a no show, but it was no problem. I grabbed one of my favorite cosmo students that I started school with. She has been following my work and has been dying for me to give her a set. Fortunately for her, we both had free time. One thing that I have to work on is being creative on the spot because when someone tells me to “do what  I want,” I never know what I want to do. So many ideas come to mind and I can’t make a decision. Thank goodness for my husband. He’s always giving ideas and when I can’t figure out what to do. I just hear him in the back of my mind and voila, there’s a masterpiece (or at least an attempt of one). I absolutely loved this set and so did she.

I loved this color Bubble Bath by OPI. Glitter is always a good idea!

During the last day on the floor this week and I was super excited because one of my coworkers was coming in for a pedicure and a sculpted full set. It’s always awesome when a friend comes in, not only is it less stressful because I know them, but it feels good to have that moral support. It was awesome because during the services we got to catch up, she got to enjoy a wonderful foot rub, and after the services, I got to enjoy the appreciation in her face and her actions! Surround yourself with good people guys, and good things will come to you.

Feet aren't so bad!

We ended the school with practicing for state board yet again. While it’s repetitive, it is very much needed. Especially since I’ll be taking it in less than a month. Stay strong my friends, stay focused and driven. We’re almost finished and all of this will be worth it!!

Until next time guys, keep SpreadJoLove and try to make this world a better place!
