80s Retro Nails by NSI

Leg warmers. Bike shorts. Bright geometrics. Flashdance. Footloose. Recreate that feeling with these eye catching nails.

Step 1: Start with a large bead of Raspberry Red Powder and place in zone 3 near the cuticle. Press from side to side for even coverage. Pull and thin the bead into zone 2 until appearance is grainy and translucent. Repeat the process in zone 2 with Juicy Orange Powder pulling the bead into zone 1. Without wiping your brush, use the flags of the brush and gently bounce it where the two colors meet, blending the two colors. You may need to add a small amount of liquid to the brush.

Step 2: Place a large bead of Canary Yellow Powder in zone 1 pressing from side to side. Again, use the flags of the brush to blend the two colors and allow the acrylic to dry. Cover the entire nail in Attraction Totally Clear Powder mixed with approximately 20% of Opal Shimmer. Allow to dry. File and shape the nail. Be careful not to apply too much pressure while filing or use an overly rough file. You don’t want to file completely through the clear product that overlays the entire design. You may end up filing off some of your design.

Step 3: On a Platinum Nail Form, press out a small bead of Basic Black Powder. Clean your brush. Move and press the product to form a square using the sides of the brush. While the product is still pliable, punch a hole in the center of the square with a hole-punch. Allow the shapes to dry.

 

Step 4: Coat the enhancement with Glaze ‘n Go and cure for 90 seconds in a 9 watt UV Lamp. Pull shapes from the form and adhere in place with Polybond Clear Adhesive.
