A device used for shining or polishing nails; a nail buffer is essentially a differently shaped nail file, albeit one with a much bigger cushion in the center; buffers have all the same basic components as a nail file: abrasive, adhesive to adhere the abrasive, and a cushion core; the center is usually plastic foam or other cushioned material.
