If you’re looking for ways to get your salon’s name out in your community, you may want to think about starting up a fun guerilla marketing campaign. Thanks to our friends at Salon Today, here are ideas from five salons that have enjoyed success based on their creative strategies.

1. Mural Madness

Planet Salon's eye-catching mural has made the salon a must-visit location on L.A.'s trendy Melrose Avenue.

2. Clever Signage

The Black Cat Salon in Kailua, Hawaii, has made a name for itself in the community with its clever window displays. The humorous displays catch the eyes of those passing by, and visitors love to post pictures of the windows on social media.

3. Happy Hours

The owners of Salon Rootz in Medina, Ohio, developed a special deal that offered discount services during slower afternoon hours to keep new service providers busy. The discount entices working customers to come to the salon during their lunch hour.

4. Treats for Teachers

The Hair Spa in Clifton, N.J., promotes its services by distributing cards and complimentary service vouchers to all the teachers in the city during Teacher Appreciation Week every year. This brings in plenty of teachers as new clients and builds good will with the community.

5. Food Truck Fun

Sue Burkholder of Salon Art-Tiff in Ephrata, Pa., holds monthly food truck nights in front of her salon to promote her business to new clients and expose existing clients to new services being offered by the salon.
