Lucky says it's a trend they can't resist. The look is polished, sultry, and flattering. The dramatic lipstick shade "hints at goth and flirts with naughty librarian, yet instantly pulls together any look." As for the hair, "This classic wavy look is made sexier and cooler by parting it lower than normal." Very  young Lauren Bacall.

What nails go with this irresistible trend? We asked Suzi Weiss-Fischmann of OPI. She says, "An elegant, edgy, black-red nail will accessorize this look perfectly; try OPI Black Cherry Chutney or Midnight in Moscow Nail Lacquer. Or, create a beautiful contrast with nails done in a rich, brilliant red, like A Oui Bit of Red from the new La Collection de France."

Long nails are the wrong period for this look. Go short instead, with slightly rounded corners to "make these looks fresh instead of retro," says Suzi.
