As of January 1, 2017, owners of California beauty salons and barbershops can legally offer clients one free serving of wine or beer. California Assembly Bill 1322 states that no special license is required to serve alcohol as long as certain other conditions are met:

> The salon must be in good standing with the State Board.

> There is no extra charge or fee for the beer or wine.

> No more than 12 ounces of beer or six ounces of wine by the glass is offered.

> The beer or wine is provided only during business hours and in no case later than 10 p.m.

We’ll toast to that!
