We’re celebrating over here at NAILS Magazine. Last Friday night, we were honored to win three Maggie Awards from the Western Publications Association (WPA). This year the Maggie Awards celebrated 60 years of honoring excellence to individuals and companies whose work is deemed “The Best of the West” in a wide variety of publishing categories. These three awards give NAILS a grand total of 26 Maggies.

This year NAILS won for Best How-To Article/Trade (“Have You Seen My Nail Art Gallery?” by Hannah Lee, June 2010), Best Website/Trade (www.nailsmag.com), and Best Social Media/Trade & Consumer. We’re especially excited to win for all the hard work we’ve put into building our web presence into what it is today. The site is amazing (if we do say so ourselves) with so much content. It truly is THE place for you to find everything you ever needed to know about nails and the nail industry. It’s truly a team effort and everyone on the nails team deserves a hearty congratulations. I’d also like to thank our outstanding in-house web team led by Sam Kim for creating such great sites for us work on.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t thank YOU, our NAILS readers and NAILS online users. It’s because of all of you that we can boast about 51,000+ Facebook fans, more than 3,000 Twitter followers, and almost 30,000 nail art pictures on Nail Art Gallery. It’s awe-inspiring to see the interaction and community-building on our site.

We love our print publication. Don’t get me wrong, that will always be our pride and joy. But with all that we can offer to nail techs and salon owners in REAL TIME on the web, we’re thrilled to be honored by our peers for a job well-done.
