The October 2011 issue of Vogue featured a two-page spread about fall's magnetic manicure, calling it "hard to resist."

Magnetic polishes, containing metallic iron particles and powder, are growing in popularity and turning heads everywhere. Each nail features an original design formation as the polish settles in and the magnets pull towards each other creating waves.

Sarah Brown, after receiving a manicure from top manicurist Lisa Logan, wrote in Vogue, "The result was an instant, sparking, almost marbleized, zebra stripe. The polish looked distorted, three-dimensional; it had the effect of brushed aluminum...Lisa Logan had warned me: 'If you don't want attention, you don't put it on.'"
