In the summer, toes are a woman's hottest accessory, according to Cosmopolitan for Latinas' Summer 2012 premiere issue.

Nail pro Tracy Lee, who has worked with such celebrities as Nicki Minaj and Nina Garcia, tells readers how to make them shine.

First, use a file on dry feet to smooth down callouses. But be careful because sloughing off too much skin can make callouses worse. It prompts skin to grow back thicker.

After filing, moisturize feet and then cover them in cotton socks. "The warmth keeps your pores open for greater cream absortpion," says Lee.

To maximize color, wipe the nail plate with rubbing alcohol, and use a base coat for smooth application and to prevent nail staining. Apply polish in thin coats for quicker dry time and longer-lasting, chip-free color.

Recommended colors: Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream; Duri Cosmetics' Addicted to Fame; and Essie's Ole Caliente.

Don't forget to remind sun-loving clients to apply sunscreen on and between their toes!
