Week 5

Celebrating 10 Years: Who Won and Who’s Packing Up Their Paintbrushes

Congratulations to Danielle Costantino for winning this week’s 10-year anniversary-themed challenge. Danielle put a lot of thought and research into her design this week. She wanted to make sure that she captured Entity’s spirit, as well as create a celebratory look. We like that she looked into the traditions of celebrating 10 years. Her color palette was light and elegant, much like the Entity ads themselves. She showed a good grasp of a variety of mediums and gave us a beautiful, well-executed design that is both a nod to Entity’s ad campaign of old as well as a modern take on the company’s look. She also offered us a demo with good photos and descriptions of how she created her look.

CND head judge Jan Arnold said, “Your water color effects captured the movement beautifully. Very nice narrative.” Entity judge Yuliya Norman said, “Danielle’s work is Entity’s team favorite! The design looks very light and like it was given a lot of thought. The nails are wearable, feminine and represent Entity’s spirit. The timeless classiness is very well combined with modern elements. Her description is great and her step-by-step is very explanatory. She used different styles and technologies.” NAILS editor Hannah Lee said, “I love the muted colors and how they really do evoke the feeling of the Entity ads and brand. I like your nail shape and I like that you gave us a varied look from nail to nail. This is one of my favorites this week.”

Other judges described this design as “elegant,” “timeless,” “ethereal,” “wearable,” and “clean and balanced.”

Danielle will receive an Entity LED Light and an Entity One Color Couture Intro Kit (a $475 value).
