Guest judge Yuriko Hoshina of Akzéntz said, “Great theme! Buckets out of a Coca Cola can is amazing!”

NAILS associate art director Yuiko Sugino said, “Love the theme and amazing concept! The overall design describes her concept really well with the movement of the people and change in flags. Amazing detailing on Mandela. Love the rainbow drips and creative texturing on the paint roller too.”

CND head judge Jan Arnold said, “This work of art is simply breathtaking in every way! You touched our hearts. You are very clever and precise.”

NAILS senior art director Danielle Parisi said, “You have blown me away with your nails this week. I could see this as a life-size rendering offered at a New York or LA art gallery. Your statue of Nelson Mandela certainly pays homage to him and all he has done in breaking down Apartheid. There are so many details you have worked arduously on and it shows not only to someone trained in art design but even to the common eye. The thing I love about your work is it can be translated into any art medium and you would still come out on top. You always go above and beyond and that is what this competition is all about.”

Tracey will receive a prize pack from Akzéntz (approximate value: $500).

The nail tech who is packing up her paintbrushes this week is … Amber Dunson. Amber’s artwork is well-known by the staff at NAILS as she competes and contributes often. She will always be a winner to us.

This won’t be the last you hear from Amber. She will move on to CND’s Last Chance Design Lab where she’ll have one last chance to stay in the competition. Check back next Friday to see who will move on in our Last Chance battle — Trisha or Amber.

Tune in Monday to find out the next challenge and vote for your favorites! Good luck to our remaining seven competitors.
