Congratulations to Hemi Park on her first win of the season! Hemi’s nails had the judges craving more!
Head judge Jan Arnold said, “Clean, chic and clever execution! Love the custom blended colors and great pro tips along the way. Please drop the ‘I did this and that’ for more effective tutorial.”
Head judge Beth Livesay said, “I love that macron! I would probably try and eat it, it looks so realistic. Great use of Legos and nail materials. Very clean, finished piece that shows movement, hand painting, and sculpting capability! I like that Hemi kept her personality in the piece too with the quirky cat. Well done!”
NAILS art director Yuiko Sugino said, “Great sculpt work, the jellybeans, macaron, and ice cream look so realistic. LOVE the sparkly lips on the mouth, it adds great shine to the overall design. Clever use of Lego for the moving aspect. Beautiful clean set, and all the colors plus the light help create a whimsical atmosphere.”
Guest judge So Yong Yu said, “Your macaron merry-go-round was super whimsical and cute! I also loved the kitty! I would have loved to see even more of how you created your designs during the demo video.”
Hemi will be receiving a prize pack from Gel II valued at $500!
The nail tech who is packing up her paintbrushes this week is… Kostadina Tsihlas. Kostadina’s persistence is admired by all. The judges will miss her spirited videos and risk-taking nail styles.
But this won’t be the last you hear from Kostadina. She will move on to CND’s Last Chance Design Lab where she’ll have one last chance to stay in the competition. Check back Friday to see who will move on in our Last Chance battle — Kostadina or Liza.
Tune in Monday to see the results of the KUPA challenge and vote for your favorites! Good luck to the Top 5!
