At the Charlotte Ronson show, Color Club polished nails in Potent Purple with a black called Where’s the Soiree.
At the Katie Gallagher show, Color Club created a custom green then added an eclipse in the moon area with the company’s bronze striper.
Models at Tibi wore an opaque, bright white — Dashing Diva NYC Fleet Week — to complement the gorgeous prints, chunky sweaters, and leather that were seen on the runway.
Cushnie et Ochs’ models who wore cream/beige/neutral on the top and navy on the bottom strutted down the runway with Dashing Diva’s NYPD Blue on their fingernails (shown), while models wearing navy on top and cream/beige/neutral on the bottom wore nude Chelsea in the Buff on their nails.
Models at Theia wore Dashing Diva Season Tickets, a beige semi-sheer crème on their fingers and toes.
Decked in over-the-top designs, models at the Jeremy Scott Show wore rainbow wigs, light-up jewels on the face, and blue pouts by MAC. Inspired by the concept behind the show, Dashing Diva pro manicurist Pattie Yankee chose Nail Bliss Bling’s Rainbow appliqué to finish the look.
Essie lead manicurist Elle Gerstein and assistant Paula Knight-Osborne created a “factory girl” inspired ombré look for the Pamela Love show by using thin layers of Little Brown Dress polish that deepens as it moves towards the nail tip, with a little glitz with its As Gold As It Gets polish.
A blend of two coats of warm beige Essie Glamour Purse and one coat of Man-E-Cure over top to lend a subtle matte finish — an inspired nail that mimics the gorgeous wool and cashmere clothing found in the Richard Chai collection.
Essie manicurist Elle Gerstein’s technique at the Rachel Roy show was all about layering and creating textures, so for those models representing greenery, her team polished a coat of Licorice (black) and then added two coats of Going Incognito (deep emerald) to create a custom pine shade (shown), and models symbolizing soil wore two coats of Carry On (a rich burgundy).
At DKNY, nails got a shiny neutral polish job with two coats of Essie Brooch the Subject.
Models at the Miguel Adrover show wore Ginger + Liz polish in Skin Tight with the company’s soon-to-be-released Matte Top Coat, and lead nail tech Indigo Makong dipped the tips of the models’ nails in fine black sand to achieve a grunge look. Photography by Jerome Shaw
For the fourth year in a row, Hand & Nail Harmony dean of international education Antonio Sacripante, along with his nails and beauty team, applied long-lasting Gelish manicures backstage at the DSquared2 show in Milan, Italy. Gelish Sweet Dream, a pale pink shade, was the choice for the DSquared2 show for its glossy high shine that didn’t compete with the gorgeous clothes.
This is the second year that Hand & Nail Harmony has worked with designer Les Copains. This season, the color choice for the nails was Gelish Little Princess, an extremely pale sheer pink shade.

Bright colors were applied by lead nail tech Melissa Bozant and assistants Paula Knight-Osborne and Gloria Williams at the Degen show to accentuate the collection’s whimsical knits and tribal face paint. NailEZEE’s chalky pastel Sunny Side Up was paired with custom shade Rock my Teal, plus Sun Kissed for an unexpected pop of color.

Deep royal purple reigned at the Yuna Yang show, which used Priti NYC Polish in King Spider Orchid to match the smoky eyes and glossy lips.
The mood was elegant and punk rock backage at the Tatania Inglis show, with Priti NYC Polish in Nigra nailing it on the fingernails.
Priti NYC Polish created a custom soft shell pink for Stella McCartney that the company dubbed Dutch Baby Dahlia.
Zoya custom color expert Rebecca Isa (left) developed custom colors for Peter Som (center; also shown is Zoya’s Leo Reyzis). The colors were named after Som’s muses: Audrey, pale pink showcased on models’ fingers; Evvie, a slate green featured on toes; and Katherine, plum nail gloss not used on the models, and polished by lead manicurist Sunshine Outing and her team.
Zoya and fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra created three custom shades for the designer’s show: Models all wore Rekha (a custom red) on their left hands as an homage to Mohapatra’s mother and either Parveen (a custom nude) or Zeenat (a custom pewter) on their right hands.
On the Fashion Week runways, juicy stone fruit colors from cherry red to plum purple reigned on nails. Custom colors and custom nail art — to complement the fabrics — were also popular, as were tasteful nude shades. Photos where a city isn’t identified were taken during New York Fashion Week.
