Fungus Remedy Uses Vinegar

We’ve all heard that vinegar can improve the appearance of thick fungal toenails, but who among our clients has the time to sit and soak every day to find out if it’s true. “In my practice, scores of patients would complain of ugly toenails resulting from fungal infections that just wouldn’t clear up on their own,” says Paul Kinsinger, M.D., an Illinois family physician. “A common home remedy requires soaking feet in a mixture of vinegar and water for 20 minutes a day for several months, but my patients balked at the amount of time involved.” So Kinsinger went to the lab and eventually uncovered a way to deliver the natural healing power of vinegar in an easy-to-use form. The result is Dr. Paul’s Piggy Paste, which combines vinegar and thymol, a natural substance with antiseptic properties, in a penetrating gel.

Three out of four patients who tried the product reported notable improvement, according to Kinsinger. “My patients were very receptive to trying it because it offered a safe alternative to prescription anti-fungal medications that pose the risk of potentially serious side effects,” he says.
