After we published our One-Stroke Nail Art Tutorial from Donna Dewberry in our February 2011 issue, we got a solid amount of feedback from nail techs who are interested in this painting technique.

Can the One-Stroke nail art painting technique be applied to gel?
I’ve only tried the One-Stroke technique on top of gel top coats. When my nail tech puts a UV top coat on my pink-and-whites, I have painted designs right on it. I use enamel paints (FolkArt Acrylic Paints brand), and it’s great because if I don’t like the design I can just wipe it off. Alternately, the design will stay well if you seal it with top coat.
