Since 2003, Sandals Nail Spa has catered to the well-manicured clients of metro Toledo, but in 2021, Owner Heather Vo made a tremendous leap to a new space that was almost three times the size of her original 2,300-feet space. Following feedback from clients and her own intuition, she set out to create a space that could host large, private parties for special occasions wit a multi-purpose space for bridal showers and intimate birthday parties.

“We also invested in a state-of-the-art mechanical system to address environmental aspects and air ventilation and efficient modern lighting that contributes to the overall design aesthetic, but also supports our service area,” Vo says.

The resulting nail spa boasts a Wine Bar, where clients can purchase a spirit or a snack to enjoy during their services. The spa’s 60 manicure stations and 49 pedicure stations allow the team to cater to a large clientele, and seven treatment rooms expands the spa’s services into brow enhancement, eyelash treatments, facials and massage.

“The focal point of the open space is a gorgeous floral accent wall, featuring a Falkbuilt custom graphic—we receive many compliments about the vibrancy and impact it makes to our space,” Vo says. “We also intentionally incorporated our mission statement on the wall above the hand-washing station to emphasize our business objective to both customers and staff.”

Nail polishes are uniquely displayed in contemporary cabinetry to compliment the sleek interior design, and custom cabinetry improves supply storage organization. “Having a well-organized, tidy spa has resulted in positive staff culture and overall morale,” Vo says. “At the end of the day, our goal is to ensure our clients and staff always feel comfortable, cared for and safe.”
