“I don’t do feet!”  “OMG, you expect me to touch feet?”

 -

I hear this often and more so these days with the uber, image-driven IG nails being flashed before our eyes everywhere we turn inside social media.

I made my whole living rubbing and scrubbing feet. I wanted to give women and men 1hr of deep relaxation and spirit renewal along with polished toenails and smooth feet. My goal was to bring peace and relaxation to the people in the hustle and bustle of the City of Angels.

There is a tremendous amount of money to be made via the soles of the feet. I had a steady salon clientele for 8+yrs along with "touching" the feet of Lady Gaga, Mary J Blige, Kanye West and Katy Perry.  I even have my own foot massage technique I teach, called the NAJASSAGE.

There is no shortage of feet or clients and as summer season is upon us I wanted to help get your creative marketing juices flowing.

If you have a pedicure chair, water bubbling and ready to go, yet need clients...I want you to think about this-- WHERE ARE THE FEET? Those places are where your potential clients will be.

Here are some places to market your pedicure services:

YOGA STUDIOS

 -

SWIM CLUBS

SHOE BOUTIQUES

At a boutique...

Make friends with the shop staff. If you do toenail art, bring some framed nail art samples to show them and ask to leave in their store along with your cards. Even better is to get one or all of them to come in and experience your service so they can tell all their shoppers about your phenomenal pedicure. You can inquire about offering an incentive or discount to anyone who buys a pair of sandals to come get a pedi with you.

MEN SPOTS

Think: Barbers, chefs, bouncers, real estate agents, etc.

For the first two-years of my career I had an all-male clientele. Men GET PEDICURES. Your marketing pitch here can be how all of the above are standing on their feet all-day long, all-week long and you have a solution to relax those tired dogs, to renew them so they “can go even harder in their following month of work” (that’s ‘man speak’ 😉 )

Now, even after reading this, if you "still are not gonna touch feet,"  I HIGHLY suggest you cross-promote with a pedicurist (and vice-versa) so you can refer your nail clients to them for their pedicure needs and they can in turn refer them to you for all your fabulous fingernail art. If you do both nail art and feet, more power to you! You can cross-promote with other beauty professionals, like make-up artists and barbers to get their clients to come see you for their mani and pedi needs.

Moral of the story: PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD

And anytime you hear someone say, "I don't do feet," just know --that is one more client for YOU!
