Halloween Look #1

Tools You'll Need: Detail brush, dotting tool (toothpick, bobby pin can work)

These looks can be done on any nail with a different look for each nail.

  1. Apply natural nail base coat.
  2. Apply 1-2 coats of a semi-sheer base coat like Bubble Bath to all nails.
  3. Blood Drip: Using a dotting tool apply 2-3 dots of a solid color in a staggered line near the cuticle. Using the detail brush connect the dots with a wavy line and fill in up to the cuticle.
  4. Spider Web Heart: Using a detail brush and a complimentary color paint the outline of a heart in the center of the nail. Make lines radiating out from the heart. Connect the lines with c shaped lines to look like a spider's web.
  5. Ghostie: Use Alpine Snow and a detail brush to paint a simple ghost shape. Use Black Onyx and a dotting tool to make 2 eyes.
  6. Mod Stars: Use Black Onyx and a detail brush to a large and small cross on the nail. Connect the lines with a c shape from line tip to line tip and then fill in to the cent. Use a dotting tool to add a few smaller dots on the nail.
  7. Allow the designs to dry thoroughly before carefully applying top coat by floating it over the nail designs. In this way you can avoid dragging the brush through the designs.

Halloween Look #2

DIY Decal Cat & Ghostie by @press_reset_nails

Tools You'll Need: This look utilizes small holiday paper hole punchers, a plastic sandwich bag, nail lacquer shades of your choice: Baby Take a Vow, Alpine Snow, Black Onyx, a dotting tool, toothpick, or old polish brush, tweezers, and nail scissors.

  1. On a plastic sandwich bag, paint thick stripes of nail polish shades, all right next to one another.
  2. Dab on some of an alternate nail shade to the streaks of wet lacquer. Using a dotting tool, toothpick, or old polish brush, swirl the shades together, then fold and press your bag to further blend and spread the shades.
  3. Let the shades set a bit and apply topcoat over the shades. Allow to dry.
  4. Once dry, carefully peel the dried polish off the bag.
  5. Using small hole punchers, punch out the shapes in the dried polish.
  6. Apply a base coat or a base color to your nails (Baby Take A Vow).
  7. While the base layer is still wet, use a detail brush, tweezer, or toothpick to stick on the dried polish decals and gently press down so it sticks to your nail.
  8. Apply top coat to your finished design.
