Meditation Mandalas for Competitive Manicurists?

by NAILS Magazine | December 15, 2010 | Bookmark +

Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means “circle” and it is usually a drawing or painting used for meditation practices and it has spiritual and ritual significance in several religions. I’m not trying to get all spiritual here and I certainly do not mean any disrespect to anyone by referring to mandalas.

I’ve been asked countless times by countless people how I get mentally prepared for competition. While there are many steps I take, the most important of which is practice. And although I don’t actually use mandalas to meditate, I do practice meditation and creative visualization to personally get ready for a competition.

Now I am not an expert in the field of meditation and creative visualization — it would be absurd for me to try to teach anyone how to practice it here — but I use it and do recommend it to prepare for competition.

I encourage you to study and find your own ways to mentally prepare for competition — that’s what it means to “Have your head in the game.”

Practice....
