The Coaching Chronicles

Little Tweaks Lead to Big Changes

I used to booth rent at the salon. However, the salon owner realized that type of business model wasn’t working very well and went to aSummit Salon seminar. She learned a ton of information there about how to structure her business to be more profitable. So she came back and made positive changes in the business.

Initially we had three nail techs, one esthetician, two massage therapists, and eight stylists. Fast forward a few years and we now have two nail techs, three estheticians, two massage therapists, and 12 stylists. We have had several additions to our team and have grown by leaps and bounds since that very smart choice. We were rated a top 200 salon for growth by Salon Today Magazine for the last two years. That itself tells you how monumentally important the coaching from Summit Salon has been for our business’s success.

As a nail tech in a commission type of business I can attest to what Jill is saying. We had three different people using three different products in the beginning. It was ridiculous how much the monthly supply bill was for the nail department. It took a long time to get everyone on the same page as far as product use, but now we all use the same products for all of our services. The cost for this has gone down dramatically and has helped to make our department more profitable. With the coaching from Summit Salon and from Jill specifically we have all learned to maximize the time spent with the client in our chairs. We add on services and retail, and pre-book appointments regularly. We now have strategies to build our clientele to new heights and to grow even more.

This just goes to show how taking charge of your business and trying new ideas can completely remodel it into something bigger, better, and different. With just a little change in your thought process you can reap huge rewards just as our salon has done.
