Sell Yourself on Social Media

There are some really great websites out there that you can learn from. Many of the product-specific websites now have salon locators on them that you can sign up on to let potential clients know where to get a certain service done. There are other functions on some of these websites to check into. For instance, there are some that have forums where you can ask an educator any questions you may have about a given product. Many of the newer product websites, like Hand and Nail Harmony, have a link to their channel on YouTube so that you can see their free how-to videos. There are also some sites, like Entity Beauty, that offer webinars you can sign up for for a nominal fee that gives you a couple of hours of education. Checking out these websites is a great way to help further your education and maybe gain a few clients.

Once you have the education how do you let your clients and potential clients know that you learned something new? Do you tell them about it? Do you put your class certificates up on the wall or in an album in the waiting area so they can see them? Do you have a salon website that you can post a blog on about the new technique you learned? If not then you can always set up a Facebook page just for your business to keep your clients updated on the things you learn.

You can use social networking sites like Twitter and Instagram to show clients what is new. For instance I take photos of my nails when I've done a cute set and post the pictures to Instagram and Twitter so that my clients can see the newest trends, what I did in my class, or new colors that we just got in. It's been a great way to let my current clients know what is going on. I tell my new clients about these things too so they can choose to follow me if they want to. We also have a Pinterest account for the salon that we can upload pictures to. We have so many clients who have come in with a picture off of Pinterest that they want us to recreate that we decided we should have some of our photos in there too.

There are many ways to use these sites to your advantage. Just take a minute to figure out how to make it work for you.
