Harris Shepard, founder and president of Harris Shepard Public Relations, has announced that the agency will close its doors at the end of June after 27 years. OPI has been Harris Shepard’s most notable client, with a relationship of over 24 years. Additionally, the agency has had multi-year engagements with Murad skin care, Jenny Craig, and KEVIN.MURPHY hair care.

“I am filled with gratitude. Thank you to my loyal clients, an incredible creative team, and a group of editors who always gave me the time to tell the newest story. Every day has been exciting, creative, and fun — there’s never been a dull moment,” says Shepard. “That being said, I’m thrilled to begin a new chapter, and the best is yet to come.” Shepard went on to say that the timing was right to make his exit. “When I started my agency, I really felt like the stars and the planets — and lots of hard work — came together to make my group successful from the beginning — and now I feel it’s just the right time to leave.”

The agency is regarded among the nation’s elite agencies specializing in beauty and lifestyle. It was named by Women’s Wear Daily as one of the leading movers and shakers in the beauty industry in its iconic “It List” and Shepard was declared a “public relations guru” by Glamour magazine.

Shepard will remain a consultant with OPI.
