NYFW: Essie For Jenny Packham

You may have noticed a lot of red nails and red dresses on the red carpet this past awards season, and after seeing Jenny Packham's spring/summer collection, we can tell you that they are here to stay. The beauty looks at the show were all based on the concept of what Marilyn would wear today.

Michelle Saunders, lead manicurist for Essie, believes that Monroe would choose a springy red like Essie's Geranum (a red-orange that is more like a coral). While Packham is known for her red carpet looks, you can definitely wear these nails for day or night. "The longer the dress, the longer the nail," advises Saunders who has been using Essie to polish nails for 22 years. The same red is also replicated on toes for a look that mirrors the Louboutin soles of the shoes worn on the runway.

I've noticed that Essie manicurists are equipped with kits that they cart from station to station. Saunders explains that the kits are equipped with anything and everything an Essie tech will need to complete runway-ready nails.
