Technique Tuesday: NYE Nails

Up the ante at the stroke of midnight with a nail art design that will help you welcome 2015 with inspired vibes. Follow these steps to see how Hiroko Fuijikawa of Mars the Salon, created a glamorous design perfect for any New Year’s Eve celebration.

1. Apply a base coat. Paint a "V" curved line on the tip of the thumb with black nail polish and a striper brush.

2. Apply a line of gold glitter nail polish above the cuticle area. 

3. Paint a "V" curved line on the tip of the index finger with white nail polish and a striper brush.

4. Paint a short "V" between the white outline and fill the negative space with gold glitter nail polish.

5. Paint a "V" curved line on the tip of the middle finger and add black dots in the negative space.

 

6. Paint a "V" curved line on the ring finger with black nail polish and paint a reverse "V" line between the black lines with white nail polish.

7. Repeat steps 1 and 2 on the pinky.

 

8. Paint a "V" line with a gold glitter nail polish on the bottom of the pinky finger. Complete the look with top coat.
