The convergence of art and beauty was on full display during Beauty Changes Lives' feature presentation “Trilogy of Beauty,” to spotlight NEXTGEN artists, the beauty industry’s future leaders. The “Trilogy of Beauty” represented the NEXTGEN’s interpretation of Street Wear, Underground and Avant Garde. NEXTGEN artists were hand-picked by established icons and mentored the NEXTGEN in their development of the “Trilogy of Beauty” collection.

CND selected three nail artists who have recently gained some attention for being standouts in our industry.

CND's Jan Arnold identified Ashley Craig (winner of Oxygen's Nail'd It), Heather Davis (CND Education Ambassador of the Year 2014), and Lavette Cephus (NAILS Next Top Nail Artist season 2 winner) as the NEXTGEN nail artists at the Trilogy of Beauty presentation.

They spent weeks concepting and working on a single set of nails for the fashion presentation. The crowd was amped up to see the styles and the models perfectly display the edgy styling and avant garde nail looks.

In addition to the three NEXTGEN nail artists, CND also named Amanda Fontanarrosa and Shelena Robinson as mentors. They said, “These three talented women [our NEXTGEN choices] not only excel at their art and profession, but they are true pioneers in our industry. Each in their own right have shown their ingenuity in bringing nail art and style to nail professionals and consumers alike through various platforms, from runway to print to television. Artistic talent alone would not have brought them this far — their multi-faceted skills are what will inspire and lead future generations in the beauty industry — that is what makes them NEXTGEN talent. As a team, we have worked collaboratively for the last four weeks to bring our individual talents together and create a unified message for the Trilogy of Beauty. We have had weekly goals and checkpoints to bring our art and our story full circle, and overall, it has been a fast-paced and exciting process.”
