Follow Friday: Nailgasm

by Sigourney Nuñez | May 8, 2015

Known as the one and only documentary about the rise of nail art and the mani mavens behind the movement, Nailgasm offers a unique perspective on the growing trend. Created by nail tech and filmmaker Ayla Montgomery, the documentary is expanding beyond the 35-minute film and is continuing to delve deeper in the industry with a new series on YouTube. If you aren’t keeping up with Nailgasm, you should. Here are three reasons why:

 1. It’s all about nail art. Whether you’re in need of inspiration or just in the mood for eye candy, there’s plenty of creative and unique designs to see.

2. Get introduced to nail techs who are pioneering nail art in the field. Most recently, Nailgasm launched a series called “Artist You Need to Know.” You can see the first episode here.

3. Support a fellow nail tech who doubles as a historian. While we may be up-to-date with the history of the nail industry and the beginning of nail art, others may not be. Thanks to Ayla, there’s now proof of the strides people in the industry have taken to make nail art trendy.
