Too often we get distracted by bling, shine, and design, forgetting that the foundation is the most important component of a nail. One overlooked medium is liquid and powder. Instead of just putting the word acrylic in parenthesis so that everyone knows what I’m talking about, let’s talk some quick science and get on the same page!
UV gels and monomer liquids are both created using acrylic chemistry and ingredients. Since there are no exceptions to this, that means when we call liquid-and-powder enhancements an acrylic, we are accurate, yet perpetuating the misuse of terminology that contributes to the confusion of the consumer, it makes it easier for us to mislead them.
This time I would like to focus on a YouTuber that is passionate about the basics of liquid and powder, she also has mad skills when it comes to a classic forever French. Meet Melissa Pechey, we went to boot camp together and it has been a joy to watch her grow and shine these past 12 years. She stood out back then as one to watch and I am still watching!
