Become skilled with one product before moving on to the next great thing.

Recently Sharon Lacktin, a nail professional in Canada, sent me a wonderful idea for a blog post. Thanks to her for the inspiration that became this blog, which will hopefully in turn inspire the rest of you!

Sometimes as nail professionals we all need to slow down and improve ourselves before moving onto more and more products. How many products do you have sitting around in drawers or on shelves that were really exciting when you bought them, then maybe you used them once or twice before setting them aside for the next newest greatest thing?

This falls right into something I frequently talk about in #naileyes classes. You ought to feature an art medium for two-to-four weeks, making your way through all of the items you've gotten along the way. This will allow you to get good at each of them because you're practicing on most clients, while also allowing you to earn back what you spent.

Focusing more on your own skills and improvements over what is the next best thing will also help keep you grounded and focused.

How much more exciting will the new things be when you are confident they will provide an excellent return on investment because you've learned how to take advantage of what you have?
