We're seniors!

It was my class's last week as a junior here at Euphoria Institute, and I was busy doing nails, of course! My week was pretty relaxing though. I started the week with no clients scheduled so I grabbed one of my favorite cosmo students for a sculpted full set. She’s my favorite because not only does she have such a bright personality and is such a pleasure to be around, but she lets me do whatever I want on her nails! So I decided to do a sculpted stiletto set, with black gel polish (black onyx from Light Elegance), gold foil, and a gold chrome accent nail. We were completely obsessed with the outcome.

I love gold foil.

Tuesday, I did another sculpted set on another cosmo student, but this young lady was a morning student. The things you learn about people when you do their nails are so interesting, and I love to talk to my clients. Not only does it create a welcoming atmosphere, but it also builds a relationship. It shows your client that you’re not just trying to make some money off of them, but you genuinely care to give them a good conversation.

Our last day in the salon floor of the week and I had another client scheduled. This time, she was a young teenager who came in with her mom. This young lady gave me hope for generations to come. She was so intelligent and wise beyond her years. It amazes me that my conversation with this 15-year-old was more entertaining than my conversation with most adults. I’m telling you, we need to invest more time into the youth. They are the future. Anyway, I’m getting off track here, but she came in for a fill and to fix one nail that had popped off. We painted them with a pink gel-polish she brought in herself and as a special surprise for her, I painted a butterfly and a semi colon on her ring fingers. (Both butterflies and the semicolon represent something special to her). She loved it and hugged me about four times, which warmed my heart. That’s what I’m here for, moments like those.

Ending the week with 100% on my test and a potluck for our last day as huniors! Everyone brought in some food, I brought the drinks, fand you know anytime there’s food it’s a great time! Next week we’ll be seniors with only 10 weeks left. Wow, that time flew by. Now time to practice for state board because, guess what? We’re almost done.

Keep practicing, don’t give up, stay positive, and "SpreadJoLove!"
