A client recently texted me a photo showing how her nails matched the ornaments she was using to decorate her office. I loved the photo and wondered how I could encourage more clients to do fun things like that. Social media is the best word-of-mouth system there is these days, and it’s smart to make use of this tool that’s right at our fingertips.
I’m thinking of a running a holiday contest where clients post photos of their nails between now and Christmas, then I save them and upload them to my page for followers to vote on a favorite. It would encourage cool nails, sharing the cool nails, and spread my hashtag around a little more. The winner could perhaps select a retail item ($20 or less) as a prize.
What do you think? Would you have any rules or suggestions for the contest? Want to try it with me?
Here is what I’m thinking of saying:
Thank you for being a loyal and beloved guest in my nail chair! I would like to show my appreciation this holiday season with the opportunity for you show off your fabulous holiday nails and potentially win a nail retail item of your choice! It’s a nail photo contest and here are the guidelines to win:
-Stage, take, and post a photo of your nails done by me between now and December 25.
-You may enter as many times as you like.
-Post them on Facebook and/or Instagram with the hashtag #FingerNailFixer.
-Send me a screenshot of your post.
After December 25, I will post all the submitted photos in an album on Facebook to be voted for by page followers until January 1.
The person who posted the photo with the most votes will be able to choose a prize at her first appointment in the New Year!
