Has spring sprung where you are yet? In my neck of the woods it’s still feeling a bit like winter. Over the weekend we had a blizzard warning and a tornado warning on the same day! Sunday morning when it was time for me to venture off to the airport, I had to unbury the truck from snow. If you’re in an area like mine that’s still cold, it’s hard to get your mind wrapped around the upcoming pedicure season, and if you’re in an area that doesn’t really have different seasons, you may start to feel humdrum about pedicures.
It is officially spring whether the weather has gotten the memo or not and that means we could be doing something highlight the superior quality of the foot services offered in our salon. Have you considered posting a sign that lets your clients know what your pedicure chair cleaning procedures are? Something along the lines of, “Did you know that the state of [your state] requires pedicure thrones to be … and we follow [or exceed] the requirements by …”
This is a polite and informative way to make a statement that will get them thinking about where they have had pedicures in the past and if the cleanliness was ideal. Try to keep it brief and concise — you might list your steps as bullet points. Then post it in areas where people are most likely to read it, on the back of the bathroom door, in the reception area, near a hair dryer chair, etc.
You should also make a mention of it on social media and create some interaction by saying “tag a friend who would appreciate a safe, clean pedicure.” This will give your current clients the chance to advertise for you by tagging their friends and family on the salon page.
I would love to see photos of what signs you create and where you put them in the salon. Please use the #fingernailfixer and/or #FNFfreaks when you put them up on social media so I can check them out!
