See My New YouTube Tutorials Every Tuesday

by Holly Schippers | June 12, 2018

When teaching classes last weekend in Orlando at the Premiere Beauty Show, several nail professionals mentioned how much my tutorial videos had helped them. Many went on to say they missed them. I got to thinking about it more and more, and realized that I missed them too!

I had stopped doing them for a multitude of reasons: So many complaints about the lighting made me realize I had to stop shooting them in hotels, which was my main source of free time; complaints about background noise meant using the salon or someone’s home was out if they had kids or pets; and more.

Of the people who commented how much the videos helped them, none of them mentioned the imperfection of the video. This got me to wondering if I let a few bad apples ruin the barrel for me. So I am bringing back tutorial videos. They are shot in the same style they always were — no editing, no fancy graphics or music, detailed information, and me just as I am.

I’m officially introducing “Tutorial Tuesday,” where you can find a new helpful video on my YouTube channel every single Tuesday. Please leave a thumbs up when you like a video so I know it’s helpful and subscribe to the channel so you are among the first to know when the video goes live. Luckily I have at least gotten better at keeping my work in camera!

Show Clients Proof of Sanitation

Show Clients Proof of Sanitation

by Holly Schippers

Hopefully one thing this pandemic will do for our industry is make clients more aware of the differences between salons, and a piece of paper that says we happen to be licensed will no longer be sufficient proof of equal or clean service. How about showing clients that you opted to take a class on sanitation and disinfection while you were closed?
