Talking Feet at the Foot Forward Reception

by Holly Schippers | August 29, 2018 | Bookmark +

After all the fun of adventures in Atlanta along with some amazing services, it was time for the welcome reception to the Foot Forward Summit. Registration was an easy process that we followed with a few minutes of indulging in the sun by the pool. Then, with hair and makeup freshened up, the first thing we saw walking into the reception was a person-sized foot! What a clever marketing strategy for gaining followers — she even had a scannable QR code!

The manufacturers present at the reception were interesting and willing to educate not only about their products, but about feet themselves. You could see everything from pedicure footwear to autoclaves and even disposable implements. One station was even performing foot care service demos on attendees.

Advances in bubbling pedicure thrones were fascinating. (Scroll back on my Instagram @fingernailfixer to see a quick video of the Contego Spa chair and how they have added the bubble effect some clients want to a system designed to be easy to clean and maintain.)

The highlight of any event is always meeting you, the nail professionals, who are the reason I do all the industry things I do. Thank you for your support, from reading the blog to watching YouTube tutorials and commenting on Facebook or Instagram posts. You mean the world to me and I strive to give you tools and resources to make your jobs easier and more enjoyable!

Foot Forward Summit is returning in 2019. Save the date: August 11-13 at the same great location!

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
