Let Clients Know They’re Appreciated

by Holly Schippers | December 20, 2018

This time of year, everyone seems a little more frazzled than usual. There is so much that needs to be done and so little time to do it.

No matter what holiday you do or do not celebrate, there are still things going on around you — extra social commitments, additional charity work, and inevitably more hours at the salon. One thing that should not be overlooked is client appreciation. Take the time, in spite of your crazy schedule, to let them know how much it means to you that they have come to you throughout the year.

This does not always have to be a gift you’ve purchased. It can be in the form of a coupon, maybe for an artistic upgrade or extended massage. It could be poetry, a heartfelt personal note, or any number of things. The key is for the appreciation to come from your heart. During a service, just take a few moments to highlight some good times you have had at the nail table together throughout the year and thank them for taking the time to be with you.

Appreciation doesn’t cost you anything except time, and in this day and age, time is the most priceless gift you can give. On that note, thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping by to read my blogs. I write in an effort to pay it forward for the help I received over the years from fellow industry professionals. I hope you find the blogs informative, educational, and fun. They are written with you in mind!

Big hugs and respect with all my love.

Reopening? Know Your Numbers

by Michele Baker

For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.

Show Clients Proof of Sanitation

by Holly Schippers

Hopefully one thing this pandemic will do for our industry is make clients more aware of the differences between salons, and a piece of paper that says we happen to be licensed will no longer be sufficient proof of equal or clean service. How about showing clients that you opted to take a class on sanitation and disinfection while you were closed?
