Happy New Year nail professionals! How are things going for you so far?
Have you thought about creating a game plan for the year when it comes to in-salon and social media marketing? It’s always tricky to remember when you should start offering Valentine’s Day services until it hits and by then you might have missed some opportunities. (Hint: You should be promoting Valentine’s nails and gift certificates now.) The class I plan to teach on the 2019 Nail Those Profits Cruise will be covering exactly that. What are some unique non-holiday themes or specials you celebrate in the salon throughout the year? Food drives and clothing drives can be popular. I have done polish donations for assisted living centers, and our salon is actually sponsoring a diet bet that begins this week. You don’t have to wait for a holiday to have some marketing going on.
Incorporating retail items into your marketing or salon promotions will help build ticket totals, which also boosts your income. An example would be gift certificates for Valentine’s Day that are sold with bath bombs or lotion as a gift. Or you could put together a small basket of fun-size items to go along with gift certificates or simply offer the baskets as small standalone gifts. Have a lot of busy professionals as clients? If so, cater to office assistant or secretary’s day with gift or gift certificate ideas in the weeks leading up to the day.
Sit down with your calendar and start mapping out the year to come so that you don’t miss any great opportunities. Staying ahead of the game is what gives your salon marketing an edge.
