The staff of NAILS and Modern Salon learned yesterday that Gino Trunzo passed away while on vacation in Mexico. Friends, colleagues, and loved ones took to social media to post their memories and express their grief. The cause of death is said to be a heart attack.

Trunzo was known as a manicurist and worked for Essie as assistant vice president. Earlier this year he was named assistant vice president of business development for Redken and Pureology.

Our condolences to Trunzo's family in this difficult time. The beauty industry as a whole will mourn the loss of a leader, mentor, and generous spirit. Below are some of our favorite memories with Trunzo. Please comment with your own.
