Last night, China Glaze teamed up with Opening Ceremony to bring fashion lovers the Happiest Show on Earth. In place of walking the NYFW runway, models walked the streets of Toon Town, complete with Mickey-inspired clothes and manicures.
Lead nail artist Naomi Yasuda (@naominailsnyc) used acrylic to make mouse ears on tips and nine shades of China Glaze color to bring the designs to life. Colors used included Liquid Leather, Water Falling in Love, Activewear Don't Care, Spring in My Step, Hey Sailor, Work it Honey, Barre Hopping, That'll Peach You, and White on White. Forty models (both men and women) were manicured by eight techs.
Opening Ceremony debuted their Spring 2018 collection along with an unbelievable surprise - a secret collaboration with #Disney to celebrate Mickey's 90th! We teamed up with celebrity nail artist Naomi Yasuda Nails to create the signature Disney look. Using China Glaze's most notable shades, Naomi wowed designers and fans alike with a full #Mickey Mouse nail tip and a unique interpretation of that famous silhouette.
