This is the month more than any other when the word “love” gets thrown around, so I say embrace the sentiment and look for ways to spread the affection among your clients, coworkers, and peers.
Clients can be more than customers — they can be friends. Keep them coming back for more by treating them to the following:
> A glass of bubbly
> A lengthier hand massage
> A piece of chocolate or another treat
> An old-school Valentine’s Day card (like the ones from elementary school)
> A rose (I got one from my esthetician on Valentine’s Day a few years ago and loved it)
Your coworkers help ensure your business runs smoothly. Reward them for showing up to the daily grind by:
> Writing them a handwritten thank-you note
> Bringing in coffee and bagels for breakfast
> Buying the team lunch
Sure, business can be competitive, but ultimately no one will succeed unless we build each other up. Show your admiration for your peers by:
> Crediting someone when their work inspires you
> Tagging a company on social media when you like their product and use it
> Encouraging others by commenting on their work
It’s up to you to make others fall in love with your business enough to support it. Creating memorable experiences coupled with a personal touch will win over both clients and colleagues year-round.
